Well here we are already in July 2007 and an eventful 6 months so far in another year. The Band and I have been so busy that I have not found the time to update the news. So here we go.

 

It started off with the demise of Mark Sharpe. Lets here and now put to bed all the hype and stories that have been bantered around, that up to now we were happy to just disregard. We all, as a unit, worked very hard to produce some original material, some of which was his but after being rearranged  musically by us all, was totally different from its original. The new album was all finished, at great expense, and ready for release, but Mark refused us any recognition, on the credits, for his pages of words and found it hard to be part of a team unit, forgetting he had joined Just Blues and not reinvented his past ventures. He exited the band by email in early January 07.

 

With a full diary for the next  12 months we rearranged our set to accommodate more Guitar work, rather than the flailing out of control hose pipe harmonica. I have to say that the band  has not looked back and from the feedback we’ve received,  you like it as well. The harp is not fully redundant, I shall be adding a small injection as and when required to the best of my ability.

 

Having jumped that hurdle, we notched up a few gigs as a 4 piece and all was going well. Then in March, out of the blue, whilst taking in some recreation, Sandy fell gravely ill and was airlifted to Colchester Hospital, where he remained for some weeks. That was very nearly the end but for the efforts of  many unnamed  heroes, paramedics, medical  staff and not least the Air Ambulance Service. Sandy wanted us to continue and do the coming gigs and use a dep, which we did, and have to thank Mr Gavin Webb and George Fothergill for stepping in so quickly and helping us out .Thank you, we owe you one.

 

That you would think is enough bad luck for a while. Well some 2  or 3 weeks later on the 28th March I had a serious car accident and was laid up for a few weeks recovering, We recommenced  working in late April/May. Thank you to the venues we had to cancel for your understanding.

 

As for our album, we have not as yet found the time to go back into the studio to change it to our current status and  remove / add  material etc. We are booked to do that in October ,so we would hope to be in a position to release the CD in Dec/Jan 08 (only a year late). It will be worth waiting for.

 

Compared to the above aforementioned,  nothing much has happened. This is our busiest year to date and we would like to thank our fans and friends for all your support through what was a difficult time.

 

 

I shall not be reporting on every gig in this news section from now on unless needs require it. We do so many now. I may just enter the odd one or two from time to time, but we would like more feedback on the visitors book, more by way of a forum where we could keep more in contact with you and get some chat going,         Keep in touch PW
